What is Twilight Dressage?
Twilight Dressage is a true schooling show series that is designed to give horses and riders a friendly atmosphere to practice in the sandbox. Tests You can choose to ride any USDF dressage test or USEA eventing dressage test that is current for the competition year. There will be ridden in sand arenas and warmup is on grass. Most judges are volunteers who ride and/or teach at second level or above, but some are recognized USDF judges. Tests will be scored with comments, but not totaled. Riders are able to pick up their tests at the secretary stand, but no ribbons are awarded. **However, one ring at each show will be designated to the WYNDA Challenge Series in which those riders are eligible for ribbons and year end awards. Click here for more information on requirements. Location: We are very fortunate to be able to use the beautiful property at Hideaway Farm for these shows. Look for the GVRDC sign on Roots Tavern Road in Geneseo for the entrance. A third ring will be added, if needed, next door at Fox Run Farm. *Please bring your own water for horses *Please carry in - carry out any refuse or waste Dress Twilight Dressage riders are required to wear boots, breeches and approved helmets. Otherwise, dress comfortably for the weather. These are true schooling shows. The format is very informal. **However, for our WNYDA Challenge Series classes, formal attire and tack following USEF rules are required (click HERE for rules). There is no TD so the judge will be able to help answer questions on attire. Ride Times The closing date for entries is the Friday before the show. The ride times will be posted on the website and social media pages on the Sunday prior to the show. Just show up, check in with the ring steward, warm up and ride your test. Tests will be available to pick up at the secretary stand, but will not be totaled unless you are participating in the WYNDA Challenge Series. In the case of inclement weather, the show may be rescheduled or canceled. Check the GVRDC homepage and social media pages for the most up to date information. |
